The reading passage explores the issue of behavior of elephant, and several reasons are offered in support of this argument. However, the lecture casts doubt on it and contradicts it for the following reasons.

First of all, even though the reading passage suggests that elephant will go to riverside when it will be dead , the lecturer argues that it's a misunderstanding. This is because the elephant's tooth is aged, which means it needs to find softer foods which usually appears on riverside. Obviously the lecturer's argument disproves its counterpart in the reading.

In the second place, the statement held by the writer claims that elephant have the ability to draw a picture. Nonetheless, it is argued in the listening that elephant can't draw actually. The lecture gives the truth that there is a man teaching and commanding the elephant so that the elephant seems to have the drawing ability.

Last but not least, the lecture acutely identifies the weakness in the reading passage that elephant fears rats. The lecture convincingly points out that elephant just fear the unknown creature; moreover, in order to establish a solid and concrete statement, he offers the example that elephant living in zoo will neglect rats when it is familiar to rats.

In conclusion, base on the evidences presented above, it can be clearly seen that the stances on both sides are paradoxical. Although the contents in the reading passage seem to be somewhat plausible, further scrutiny leads the lecture to believe that the points of view mentioned in the reading passage are not true.

題目:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Getting advice from friends
who are older than you is more valuable than getting advice from friends of your own
age.

作答:
Views differ considerably when it comes to the issue of getting advice from friends. Some people believe that getting advice from older man is more useful. On the other hand, others assert that getting advice from friends on the same age is more feasible. Both of the opposite argument appear to be somewhat convincing and stand to reason, yet my personal experience and actual observations of life have led me conclude that getting advice from friends of the same age is much better.

    First of all,同年朋友可能剛面臨同樣的問題,經驗比較可以參考. For example,

    Second, 同年朋友和我的背景比較相似,提出的辦法可行性會比較高。 For instance,

However, people who hold different opinion may argue that the advice from older friend will be better. Of course, it may be true that older friends' suggestion will be brilliant when taking their experience into consideration. Nevertheless, the advice may be a great solution for the most people but not me.

In conclusion, given the reasons described above, when advantage and disadvantage are carefully compared, the most striking view is obvious. It may be safe to arrive the conclusion that it's better to get advice from friends of my own age.
